Aion 2 skills and stigmas: how to plan your build
Assemble your skills, calculate the resources for your selected ranks and review restrictions before making changes in the game. Follow this Aion2DB planner walkthrough and open a reproducible example with one click.
Choose a region and class
Start with the Global or TW dataset. Similar names can have different available ranks and requirements. Then choose your class and set the character level. Your character level and an individual skill rank are separate settings.
Changing the region clears the selected skills: select them again from the new dataset. Changing class when skills are selected asks you to confirm the reset.
Active skills, passives and stigmas
Click an empty slot in the relevant group, find a skill by name and add it. The planner initially selects an available rank; change it in the skill card. Open the description to review the effect and conditions.
- Active skills appear separately from passives and stigmas in the planner.
- Passive skills form a separate group with their own ranks and mastery costs.
- The stigma group includes Dp records and skills with stigma shard or superior stigma costs. Adding a slot expands the planner layout; it does not confirm that your character has unlocked a slot in the game.
How costs are calculated
The overview has three independent totals: mastery points, stigma shards and superior stigmas. Selecting a rank adds the costs of every rank up to and including it. If rank one is free and ranks two and three each cost one point, selecting rank three totals two mastery points.
This is the full catalog cost of the selected setup. The planner does not subtract ranks you already learned, account for your inventory or check your character’s resource budget. Compare the totals with your actual progress and available resources.
Example: Global Gladiator
For this exercise, use a level 22 Global Gladiator and three skills. Names, requirements and cumulative costs in the table come from the same dataset as the calculator.
| Skill | Rank | Level from | Mastery | Shards | Superior |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rending Blow | 3 | 4 | 2 | 0 | 0 |
| Blade Toss | 1 | 22 | 0 | 1 | 0 |
| Survival Stance | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| Total | 3 | 1 | 0 | ||
- Check the overview: 3 mastery points, 1 stigma shard and 0 superior stigmas.
- Change Rending Blow from rank 3 to rank 2. The mastery total decreases by one point. Restore rank 3.
- Lower the character level to 21. Blade Toss shows a warning that it requires level 22. Restore level 22 and read the ascension notice.
This exercise demonstrates costs and requirement checks. Its PvE or PvP effectiveness has not been tested; selecting a combat build requires in-game testing.
Read the requirements
For Global, the planner checks the character level required for each selected rank. Passing this check only confirms the level condition. It does not establish that every skill is compatible or can be acquired.
- Ascension requirements are displayed in skill cards but are not verified because the character’s grade is not specified.
- Other skill and item prerequisites may remain unverified. Incomplete requirement data is reported as unknown.
- Conflicts between different Global skills are not checked. TW shows a warning for insufficient character level; it does not inherit the complete Global validation flow.
The first stigma rank in the example has an ascension requirement. Meeting the character level alone does not confirm every condition; check the skill card and your character in the game.
Common questions
Why is a stigma unavailable?
Check the region, class and required level of the first available rank. If your level is sufficient, read the other conditions in the skill card: the planner does not verify all of them.
Can I move a Global setup to TW?
Changing the region clears the setup. Open TW, choose a class and build a setup from its data: matching names do not guarantee matching ranks or requirements.
Where can I read each skill description?
Open a skill from the example table, a class page or the skill database. Check the dataset region and the rank you need.
